I just bought a nice condition 500SEL 1992, problem is I am based in Nigeria and there are not too many decent repair centres!

There is an intermittent problem with auto box, most of time it works perfectly but once in a while when starting off when I reach first gear change the car goes into KANGAROO mode and will not change up at all. If I continue driving the fault may or may not clear, and swiching off does nothing to help.
Have had the car on a diagnostic computer a few times but it never shows any fault at all.
Changed gearbox filter and at fluid, still no help.

Anyone got an IDEA

get a transmission a new one put it in. did the fluid smell burnt was there any clutch material in the pan. i also sell parts on e bay if you need help with parts(factory parts only)
