Just put a deposit down on a 2005 S500 with 8000 miles left on the warranty. I assume if there are any problems they would be covered under the original warranty. Would appreciate if anyone can tell me what to check when I pick up the car and can anything void the warranty?

 

I would consider a MB extended warranty, I am surprized that they did not "Starmark" it with the warrany built into the price. I would consider having it inspected before taking delivery

 

Thanks for the reply. Since the car is under factory warranty I was going to have it inspected after I bought it because any problems would be fixed by Mercedes. Do you see any downside to this logic?

 

I have done it before, get an indpendent opinion, possibly from another dealer. I then presented their findings and made it contingent on the sale, it worked but it took a while since it was not their priority!

 

Good call, Peter! That's the same question I was asking as I read the post. Why didn't the dealership Starmark the vehicle? 2005 with 8000 miles. I would definitely have it checked out before I would take delivery of the vehicle.
