Default Keyless entry remote repair? or replace?

The factory Keyless entry remote on 98 S420 is n longer working. I checked the batteries and they were low so installed new batteries but still not working. contacts looks fine. Are there any repair service for these remotes? I got a quote from a local dealer for $165 for replacement. would be nice to hear from someone that knows where I can get one for reasonable price also.

Thank you,

Neine, or no. You will have to order a new one, need driver license, registration and I was asked for a second ID. The dealer orders the key and it was sent to me about a week later. DON'T BUY THE EBAY ONES. Someone I know bought one and the dealer would not accept it for coding, he was out $100.00, but got it back by filing a complaint with PayPal. I got mine from Caliber Motors and with my MBCA discount and the discount for being a MercedesForum member it was less than $80 including S/H

Caliber motors wants $150 for the remote. This is after I asked for discounts.
