k & n filters

RE: k & n filters
Take a pass on the K&N, they flow great but also let tons of particulate matter through. There have been multiple tests and they always come up short for actual filtration....with that said....they do flow great. I run them on my Harley's but I know that its hard on them and I rebuild every three years......could not afford to do that to the Benz.

I been using K & N on most of my cars with no problem for the last five years..there are cleaning kits you buy forproper maintenance of these special air filters....you have to oil them to filter correctly...as long as you clean and maintain it properly, it will filterand flow good according to their specification.

Not trying to be a contrarian here....but......K&N's actually filter BETTER when they are dirty. Have a look at yours after you clean and oil them up....you can see blue sky through the filter. They don't recommend cleaning them for 50,000 miles...YES 50,000 miles. To me its on the cusp of insanity. In the end if I was drag racing my car I would pop one in...if I was racing the rice grinders around town...I would put one in....for day to day driving the paper filters filter better. Take your intake off of your car and have a peek at the oiled up dirt in your tract after you put a K&N in for 5,000 miles...seriously....its pretty amazing. They say they perform better than the rest....and they are not lying...they perform great...remember......GO FAST, BREAK FAST.
