Either use a test light especially made for computers and electronics, with short piece of wire or paper clip, and one by one test the pins of the 38 pin test connector, in accordance with procedure. I got tired of using a test light and a paper clip, so I finally bought below, which is applicable to your car also:

On these model MB cars, you need to check the computer codes regularly, and clear them after fixing problems.
