How many mileages on a gallon you get on your S430?
I get 19.5 city hwy mix of 50/50. I got 32.1 according to the computer with the cruise on 65 and no hills. I have yet to take a road trip so I do not have real data.
this will be only moderately helpful, but on my 2001 s500 I get an honest 18mpg on average, (Driving in traffic three miles to work and back daily) on a long trip recntly mostly freeway at anout 75mph I averaged 24.9. -- DS
My name is gary, recently joined this site after purchasing an immaculate '97 420S. Went to Reno Nevada from San Francisco, a up hill trip, and got 27.6 mpg. I thought that was terrific. Have'nt checked city driving yet But it a heck of a lot less than that.
18-23 would be the norm and as you can see, some get up to 27 depending on terrain, etc. 12 seem ridiculously low though!!
PS- If gas cost is your biggest concern...you're in for an eye-opener when small things begin needing replacement. You've chosen an expensive car which requires sometimes costly repairs and maintenance! Needless to say...a great car though.

I have a 2002 S430. I have gotten as high as 31.9 mpg on the freeway at 65-70 without AC running. Get abut 24 to 26 in everyday driving in Baltimore. The lowest I've gotten is about 18 in all city driving. I get the same milage as the previous Mitsubishi Diamante I had.
Wish I had bought one sooner.
