Hello, i need help with the phone option in my 2003 Merc S430. It is not pre-wired. I asked the local dealer and heis charging $3000 for this. Is it something that i can do myself???? Is there any other way this can be done which costless.....Thanks in advance

 

Dont go to the dealer and pay $3,000. You could try an independant shop and see if they can install it. Its not pewired? I thought they where. If it is not prewired and the loal shop or electrical store can not do it then you might have to go to the dealer.

 

The wiring is there, the support items are not, the PSE, splitter, the blue tooth puck, and the interface modulewhich is neccesary, and programming thefiber opticloop to make it all work. It is high, but plausible, they get over $1000 to convert TEL-AID to digital.
I was going to do mine, my buddies at MB gave me some spare stuff, the xtras added up to over $600. I am very happy staying with my handheld.
