My 1997 S320 check engine light has came on and it is vibrating when idling.This happened 10 months ago and the ignition coil was replaced and it has worked fine since.Could this be the same problem I am just not able to take it to a dealership because I am on a fixed income (the car was given to me by my daughter) Any help is greatly appreciated

 

It could be any of a number of problems. Go to an autozone, pep boys, advance auto parts store. They scan your OBDII and see if it pops up there.

 

Thanks, Had Advance check it today and it said "cylinder 2 misfire" The girl wasn't too helpful where to go from there lol I am googling hoping to find the simplest cheapest place to start to eliminate possibilities.

 

Could be the plug, the plug wire, the coil, the wiring to the coil, an engine mechanical problem, a fuel injector problem, and who knows what else.

Try finding an independent mechanic in the area that regularly works on Benzes. You'll save some money.
