We recently purchased an '03 S500. I'm glad it has navigation, but the north-up map orientation is driving me crazy.

I looked in the manual in an attempt to change it, and it has clear directions: turn the right **** until the compass is highlighted and press the **** to change it. Well I tried and nothing happens when I turn the right ****. If I press the ****, it will change the zoom, but nothing highlights the compass to change the orientation.

Please tell me I'm missing a step so I can change the map to heading-up. It's so annoying right now. What am I doing wrong?
