A/C push button control module displays temperature in Celcius not Farenheit
Sleepwalker,
You were right, the A/C push button control module is back to normal. Once you get the prompt by simutaneously turning the inition on and pressing the rest button and get the desired P1 and P2 codes by pressing the ("blue = < ; red = >
. in my case the "rest" button would not lock in the desired input. I had to press the "EC" button in order to lock in the desired inputs. Once I hit the "EC" button to lock in the desired P1 value, because the hitting the "rest" button did not do anything, it automatically jumped to P2 where I entered a desired P2 value. After doing this I went back to an earlier step where I had to hit the "rest" button and turn the inition on simultaneously and started over again until I had inputted all the values I needed for P1 and P2 values. Each time I could only input one value for P1 and one for P2 before going back to the earlier step. I may have done something wrong. One thing I didn't understand was the P2 value of +8 for the blower and +128 for the smog caption switch. In this case I set P2 to 08 and 128 and use those values since I did not see anything with +8 or +128 values on the right side of the display. But I did get the my desired results the control module reads in Farenheit now and not Celcius. Also my Push buttons for the center outlets are bacl to normal as well. Once I reset the display to Farenheit again it fixed the problem.
Thanks for all the help sleepwalker!!

Sleepwalker,
Out of curiousity, where did you find the values that you gave me to use for my car. Is there a chart listed somewhere, that I could use for the future if I need to adjust some settings down the road. You did mention that if I held the "rest" button for 5 sec. that I could see more values that I could play with. I did this but didn't know what I was looking at. Just curious.
Thanks

sorry, i have made a mistake that it was "REST" button when it is suppose to be the "EC" button. that's why i put a note there that you can try other button if "REST" doesn't work. good work NMB. thank you for letting us know the right button
yes, i have so many list of actual values, actuations (you can actually open or close certain flaps you want, engage or dis-engage compressor, open or close water heating valves, etc...), read fault codes, and program your airconditioning control unit!
these things are not easy to find, but i can write them down if anybody is interested.
a very good way to locate any air conditioning problem by doing it yourself!

Hello sleepwalker,
What are the P1 and P2 values for 97 E320? The cliamate control unit on my unit displays C and I want to change it to F. Does this chsnge the display in instrument cluster from C to F as well?

I tried to upload th picture, but it is too large. You have several e-mail addresses. What e-mail address should I send the picture to?
OK. I reduced the picture size and uploaded it.
One more question sleepwalker. After I change the unit from C to F, does the display change in the instrument cluster display from C to F as well?
Thank you very much for the information and for you time.

Hi,
just following up on this thread.
I have a US 1999 CLK320 (W208) that I have taken to Switzerland when I moved (I love my car
).
I'd like to convert the Temp displays in both the ACC and outside temp displays from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
On the ACC I got followed the instructions here and got the display to change to C but the back light and centre duct switch no longer work
.
What are the correct numbers for my car? and how to enter the numbers in a little clearer instructions.
Also how to change to instrument outside temp display to C.
Is there a source to get this information.
Many thanks for any help.
Rob
