Default To Buy or Not To Buy

Hello All,

I just joined and I have a question to ask. I have been wanting a w-220 S-600 for a while now and I have a chance to get one. There is a 02 at a local chevy dealer and they want to get rid of it badly. Here is a list of things that are wrong with the S-600

176000 miles
ABC Light
Frontend noise at low speeds
Pulls to the right
Needs driver side mirror
one cyl is missing
needs hood struts

The car is clean in and out but you can tell that a punk kid had it due to the fact is has a poorly done tint job.

The dealer is willing to take my bare-bones 01 Cadillac Deville for a straight trade. Here is a list of things wrong with the caddy

119000 miles
TCC Solenoid
Leaking oil bad
burns 2 qts of oil in 700 miles
bald tires
intake gasket leak
random start stall issue
random high idle issue

My question is my cadillac worth more then the s-600 or is it a fair trade?

Thank you!

Sounds like they have a smart sales manager and want to get rid of it badly.
As far as the trade goes it sounds to me pretty fair, an expensive POS for a cheap POS.

I made the trade last Wednesday. Just came home from the Mercedes dealer they topped off the hydro fluid light turned off and the misfire was a vac leak. Put tires on it Saturday and took away the front end noise and the pulling.

Hopefully it stays this way.

Yep it was a mistake.....

Last Saturday starter went out which was $1650

Friday the car beached itself on my way to work and now the dealer first thought it was the front left strut so I bought a reman from arnott for $600 and was going to have it installed for 1050. Now they are saying they have no clue what is the real issue. The car sank on the front left and the front rear and hydro fluid was everywhere. They filled it back up and the struts pumped right back up with no leaks. They did a rodeo test and the pressure during the test was 96 bar and the pressure with it just sitting there is 186 bar. The car is still at the dealer and they said they will know Monday. I'm betting a combo of pump and front left is out but no one still knows where all the fluid came from.
