Air filter Hose

Air filter Hose
I recently took my car to the dealership for a regular maintenence. After getting it back I started to notice some changes in the way the car drives. The car would not accelerate like it used to. So I poped open the hood and I noticed that the airfilter hose was missing.
my question is what major problems can I face if I do no get another air filter hose installed in my car? Please this is urgent. Thanks

RE: Air filter Hose
are you talking about the one that connects from the airbox to the reinforcement and sucks in air??????
...if you are, then nothing major is gonna happen, you car just sucks in less cold air and that side that is missing the hose is gonna suck in hot air from the engine, but i suggest you get a new hose.
By the way: was it there before you took the car in for the maintenance???

RE: Air filter Hose
Yes the Air hose enclosure was intact before I took it in for the maintenence. The advisor said that this hose enclosure connects directly to the engine itself. W/o this air filter enclosure, the engine can be exposed to air contaminants, because the air is not being filtered. I dont know who to blame for this.... If something happens to the engine I do not want to burden myself of the cost in replacing the part or engine damage. Can someone please advise me on what I should do?
