'99 S320... softer Seats ??
hi guys,
any way to make these front seats softer in the '99 S320 ?
they are in really nice condition, but they are like rocks compared to my
'97 cadillac eldorado.., not very comfortable.
thanks,

Let's face it, everyone needsa different feel to the seat. I have driven both Lincons and MB S's from Vermont to Florida dozens of times. The Lincoln defintely had softer seats and had lumbar and 6 way adjust. The big advantage I find to the firmer MB seats is the adjustment of the seating surface to be extended or retracted. Being long legged and getting the support under my thighs is a big plus to me. Now if they could only make the lumbar support to move up and down I would be happy. It never seems to fit the right spot on the small of my back:-)
I used sheepskin seat covers on my 87 300E. Some older MBs used horse hair pads that needed a freshening after 15-20 years. IIRC the 99 S seats do not use horse hair and were way better than the mid 80s which is to say be glad you don't have one of those. Sheepskins will solve the problem if you don't mind the look, they made my E seats feel like a Cadillac. You would love Peugeot seats and Citroen seats, I have owned both and they are the most comfortable seats in the world, soft yetsupportive, firm yet forgiving..
No lie, the cadillac is no joke when it comes to highway comfort in the seats. Probably one of or the most comfortable highway cars that are American made. Feels like a living room recliner. Maybe that's why they call the 1995 Fleetwod the living room on wheels.
And coming from a familythe most common cars being either a cadillac or a mercedesthis is a topic that come up often. What it basically came down to is just personally preference. Some like the big fluffy softsleep seat floaty cadillac. And some like the firmer seat Mercedes. And some like either one. say . Like some people do have a tender backside and need a pillow but in most cadillacs, the seat is already a pillow. I can ride in either one. I like the more firmer supportive seats in the benx personally but don't mind the cadillac's seats (as long as I remember I'm driving and not lounging in a living room.)
