84 w126 mech. fuel injection bimetallic regulator?
i was reading about mercedes benz mechanical fuel injection trying to find some answers to my onging idle and slow response problem, when i came across something of interest...
apparently back in the day benz was using a mechanical system very sismlar to that on the diesel engines, with a bi-metallic strip that would flex according to temperature and regulate the fuel to air mixture. it would make sense then, that if this strip eroded over time it could cause the kind of problem im having. (poor start, slow to respond to accelerator pedal, wont idle or run below 1100 rpm.)
wondering if anyone knows anything about this piece of metal, such as how to test for a bad one, and where i could get a new one if it is bad. and how much the thing costs. im a broke student!!

thanks. that thread was helpful. you say not to mess with the eha, but rather to just go get a new one. i was wondering where i could expect to find one and how much i would have to pay.
