Default 2016 S550 Key Reminder Chime

New owner of a 2106 S550 here--still learning about all the interfaces BUT is there a way to reduce the volume of the Key Reminder Chime? It is VERY loud and not becoming of such an awesome car. Would like to silence it altogether but I'm sure Big Brother would not like that.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Other members would have to comment on this, but I know that with BMWs you're able to use a reader/scan tool and play around with the car's settings and adjust lights, sound, etc...there is likely a tool for MB that would allow this as well.

Thanks for your reply. It's the same sound the Seat Belt Warning makes so it looks like I will have to beg the dealer...

I think the dealer would be able to re-code this for you and eliminate the sound. Please let us know if you have any other questions or if we can assist with any part needs.

Nope--dealer told me they can't/won't. The repair order stated that "modifying or setting the volume is not supported". Any one know where the chime is located in the dash?

I looked up this issue in on google and other MB forums, and from what others have said; it seems like this is built into the firmware and cannot be adjusted/disabled.

Does anyone know where this chime/alarm is located so maybe I can get to it and somehow "muffle" it?
