Hello. My name is Johan and I am very new to this forum. I recently migrated from a Corvette Z06 to a 2000 S500 SPORT. So far I have had some bad luck. My most recent problem is my instrument cluster lighting keeps flickering and going out randomly. I stopped at the dealer today and they told me the part alone would be $1650. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions about this problem? I do have automotive experience but I am blind when it comes to this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

 

looks like electrical problem...
ask your dealer exactly what needs to be replaced.
then take your car to local MB shop (non-dealer) for repair.
for sure, you won't pay $1650
