Like my title says I have an oil leak (somewhere around under the oil filter cap or around the belt tensioner) front left side of the engine. Does any one have any suggestions. There is so much stuff thier its hard to see exactly where the leak is coming from. The engine oil is also getting on the alt belt causing it to fail besides making a oily mess on everything. thank for your ideas!

 

just check the oil evry 3 or 4 days until u can find what the problem

 

OK my oil leak repaired. I am sure this simple problem has caused many headaches. Just below the oil filter housing (right behind the alt belt, no need to remove it.)there is a small square aluminum inspection cover with 2 bolts holding it.(ignore the bolt in the middle of the cover it does nothing) The 0-ring seal on this inspection cover with leak oil profusely. R&R the seal or make a gasket for it and problem solved.

 

as u said the gasket but u should see the leaking place cause there is more that one gasket

 

It takes one 0-ring. But instead of a trip to the dealer, i made a fiber gasket to re-seal the plate.
