Hello MB Owners,
New to this forum as of today. I recently retired my 1988 420 SEL (154k miles) and have both interior and engine bay parts which were stripped and available for sale. Ideas to sell MB parts would be appreciated. Ebay seems to be a bust. I have some interesting parts (i.e. reconditioned fuel distributor that was replaced approximately 4,000 miles which cost me $800 + labor to install, before I retired my vehicle, entire steering wheel with turn signals, air bag, etc and many other parts, such as full set of seats, interior panels, visors, mirror and certain exterior parts, such as complete rear taillights. Any advice would be appreciated. If someone needs inexpensive components, I have many items which would be useful on many W126 Chassis'.
Hi, I need the driver side vertical piece that locates inside the car at the rear edge of the window glass. It is held in place by one Philips screw towards the top and secured at the bottom by a clip, see picture. To remove, you first remove the Philips screw and then simply pull the top of the piece slightly towards you and then pull it straight up. Someone broke the lower retaining clip off of mine because they didn't know what they were doing. See picture below of the same trim piece on the passenger side that has the proper retaining clip on it. What color interior does your car have? Mine is light gray. Probably doesn't really matter on color as you can paint it with interior paint assuming I can find the right color. This is a picture of the driver side vertical trim piece I need, This is a picture of the passenger side t rim removed to show the clip that must in on the piece. Someone broke it off on the drivers side.
Unfortunately, I only removed "interior parts" and Engine Bay Parts". Your item described was left when vehicle scrapped. With some of my other vehicles when parts were required, there a junk yards across the country hooked up to a main clearing house. Contact a local scrap yard and have them search for your part. Good Luck. Gary
