Default 04 s430 suddenly shut down while driving

A nice family saved me by selling me their cherished s class for 1500 after I got scammed out of 14000 on a Cadillac escalade ESV. It ended up being stolen. papers and all. I was busted broke. out a daily driver and money. anyway. super clean s430 and by the the book maintained. Being a diy I know I am using adull knife when it comes to being cheap with any mb. I am just taking everything slow and reading as much as possible on how these over electrical chariots work think not american. lol

so other than the typical airride leak she was running flawless. bam dash started fading in and out loss of power every freaking light and message came across the cluster within a mile I was parked in a lot not moving. I luckily or not across from a pep boys so they said it was the battery. put a new agm 900cc 1000 in it was great for 4 hours. back to the same thing. swapped battery but it didn't have enough charge to turn over. long story short. it now is hold with over 12 ish volts but my command center I guess the radio/navigation center is blank. running hot no fan low coolant light. of course airmatic isn't working rt window etc. It had 8 blown fuses???? possible idiot arc by pep boys of year first battery had a bad cell they said. I checked the alternator with my multi meter at the trunk battery and it was reading almost 128ish. not sure if I said that rt. I seems that with a fully charged and new battery everything would work for a bit until the battery drained if the alternator was bad. would a voltage regulator be a possibility along with 150 other options.lol. I checked all fuses relays burned wires etc. seems good. why is the radio etc. or the radiotor fan or whatever keeps it from getting hot or compressor coming back on. HELP I don't have the funds yet to purchase a scanner but I will. not out of the hole yet this is my daily driver for now so I am trying to diagnose as much as possible before I get it towed to the local mb boys. not the dealership. the shop that the car has it history. mb certified??? they said it would probably be 2 3 hours of diagnosis to just get started. I understand but 120 hr crap 360 and still need parts.I would love to spend that on a alternator or voltage regulator or whatever and install it myself before getting a realistic 1500plus bill from them. If anyone can throw this newby some education it would be greatly appreciated.
