Im new to the forum and have been trying to figure out why my ml430 cranks over and over but does not fire when cold. When you turn back the key and try agin it starts after about 2 sec of cranking. Once you start it and turn it off it fires perfect agin. I also ran the codes for CEL Say BAS ESP and EPS.

Most of my searching said crank sensor but my CEL dosent come up for that. Unless im mistaken. Thanks in advance

 

if you say it starts after a long crank it sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is not holding the fuel pressure thus causing an extended crank, you should have 60psi at the fuel rail. if the pressure drops overtime youll need a pressure regulator which is in your fuel filter on the ML.
