Noise Under the Car
Hi all,
I have ML 350 -2003. lately I hear like "whining pully" noise from under the car it seems, ONLY while driving, nothing when parked and engine running.
The noise is more obvious when going down the hill.
Sometime it goes when I step on the Gas; sometime is starts when I step on the Gas.
But Always STOPS when I switch from drive (D) to normal (N).
any help please.

My first guess would be driveshaft support bearing. About $100 plus one hour of work. Lay under the truck and try to shake the driveshaft in the center cross joint area or lift all wheels and put it into drive. Did it twice on my 99ML320, easy job and I do have instructions buletin for it.

would you be able to put a copy of the instructions on to the site as I will have to replace my driveshaft on my 2001 ml 270
