noise from engine '98 ml320

Default noise from engine '98 ml320
Hi I am new to the forum, I am anaverage mechanic, noise from engine sounds like the tensioner on the belt make noise. Does any one encounter this problem? Help.

Yes it is a pretty common component that does go bad on benz's. they make a clacking type sound and you can usually see the tensioner jump around with the sound.
