New ML500 owner with a question.
HI folks,
New to the Mercedes world, been a lexus enthusiast most my life and now i've just picked up the 02 ML500. Very nice ride. Just a few concerns i was hoping you guys could help with.
1) idle is a wee bit rough, nothing very terrible but you can feel the engine "tremble" at idle.
2) the vehicle is a 4X4 with the Dunlop Grabber tires. My wife has complained about the ride a little bumpy, especially in the rear. will new tires, i.e. touring ones, help?
3) the remote that came with the key doesn't work, the batteries have been changed and i have followed the "synchronizing" procedure in the manual. Trip to the MB Dealer?
I am and have been a DIY guy for all my vehicles with a semi professional home garage. So taking the car out to get rear-ended by the dealer is just not an option. Unless it's for diagnostics. I have a Service manual coming on its way and was wandering if anyone out there had any inputs.
Thanks guys, and i would be happy to, or attempt to, answer any Lexus questions you may have.

RE: New ML500 owner with a question.
I too have an 02 ML 500.
Rough idle is not normal, I have 55K and cannot tell when its running. Try plugs first.
Tires don't make a huge difference in ride. This truck rides hard period.
I know nothing about remotes.
Here are items I have fixed.
Screeching noise under dash. CPU fan/Fuse box
Brakes: brembo oem rotors and non oem pads installed by my brake guys 250.00
Small rust pimples:removed rust, touch up pen from MB matched color.
Glove box handle broke off
Thats about it, I gave the truck to my wife and she loves it. Good Luck with it.
