I have a few problems with my wife's ML320 2001. The ESP/BAS light on the cluster is on all the time, recently a change tiresso maybe the problem starts here but I don't think so. Also to be able to change gears from Park to Drive I have to stick a pencil right there on the center console so maybe the transmition switch are bad?and the stop lights are not turning on when you press the brake pedal (swicht was replaced). Allconnectors, wires, fuses and bulbs are ok.
I don't know if all this problems are related.
I will appreciate if some one can give me a tip.

still sounds like the brake switch to me( for the shifter problem). maybe onthe newswitch you need to pull out the white button/switch all the way then install it???? or bad switch?? the switch will cause no brake lights and cant get out of park.
