Have you tried spray waxing? I got it done for 15$ and it really seems to have no difference although it might not last as much.

I bought Mintex brakes about 6 months ago and I give it to the local car service and the change them for 40 bux.
but I don't like the new brakes. Right now I have to hold the brake more strong to stop the car.
they are not too bad but not like the old ones.

do you guys have any recomend for brand? I was thinking to change with the original ones for the next time.

Well I just got a call from my MB dealership on my 04 ML350 with 27,000 miles on it. They want over $1500 to replace all 4 rotors and pads. They say they are under spec. They also say "I am lucky I got that many miles"!! This is crazy.

I followed your instruction but I think my 2001 ML320 is different than yours. When I had the wheel off, I noticed that there is no 13mm, or 14mm hex bolt to remove caliper, instead I see T40 star. When I turned those bolts, and felt the bolt was off the unit, the caliper wouldn't come off no matter how hard I tried to remove it. I didn't want to damage the brake system, so I replaced it back and thinking about taking it to mechanic with my Akebono pads.....Any trick to remove the caliper?

Have you do your own oil change? Is it difficult? BTW, I am still not sure what extact type of oil can be used on 2003 ML350, the enclosed booklet is very confusing what type of oil should be used. Actually I have been looking for the repair manual for this car, the cheapest one I see is a CD that cost $178. Anyone has the 2003 ML 350 shop manual, please post.

I did mine also just last week and noticed the same thing. I instintivally only ordered front brakes and when I did the front I also rotated the tires. When I took the rear tires off I noticed that the rear brakes were also in need of being replaced. Does anyone know why?
Can't say for sure, but I remember seeing someone with a ML-500 complaining about getting less than 20k out of their rear pads some time ago. Honestly I can't think of any reason for them to have worn so quickly, but I must admit, the car has excellent stopping power so they obviously have been doing their job well. For what it's worth, I switched to a ceramic pad on the front and I've put about 1000 miles on them so far without any brake dust whatsoever. With the OEM pads I would have needed to wash the wheels at least two or three times by now. I'm very pleased with the new setup.
what brand of ceramic pads did you buy? is it good?
