I have a 1999 MB ML320 but for some reason I have a 1998 Owner's Manual. My wife got the car used when she was in college. I now use it as my commuter car. With my luck, the two lights that always turn on in my dashboard are the only two lights the 1998 Owner's Manual does not have.

The first light says, " BAS ESP" and the second light is a picture of what may look like a radiator. If anyone has this manual and can tell me what these two lights mean, I would greatly appreciate it. If you could also tell me what I have to do to fix it, it would be even better.

the bas / esp light could mean a bad stop lamp switch. the radiator one is the coolant light- check for a coolant leak

 

Usually, when I have a bad stop lamp, another light comes on only when I apply the brakes. I know I have an ESP button in the middle of the center console next to the rear wiper button. I am not sure what it does and I am not sure if they are both related to each other. The coolant info you gave me makes sense, I will look into that. Thanks for the insight.
