I've been having an awkward problem with the backlights for the instrument cluster in my 02 ML500. It seems that when I put the headlights on, the backlight goes dim to the point of barely being visible at night. However, if I turn the cockpit light on, the cluster lights right up. I have no clue what is casusing this, any help?

 

Turn the small **** that you push for the trip odometer. Its the dimmer for the instrument panel.

 

Wow, perfect. Thanks... I can actually see my speed at night now. I must have inadvertedly turned it once when I was trying to reset the trip.
