I bought some of those nice plastic chorme backing inserts for the door handles of my 2008 ML350. I want to install them myself, but don't know how to remove the interior door panel and loosen the handles. Any do it yourselfers that have had the interior door panels off that can enilighten me?

 

The covers just go over the top of the current handles. Make sure you use some extra glue other wise they will be flying off

 

Thanks for the reply. I know that the inserts just fit inside the handles and aren't held down by the handles. However, I couldn't fit them down into the opening. Maybe it is like one of those old link puzzles and I couldn't figure it out. I seemed that I would have to go inside the door panel and loosen the handles to get them installed. Can you tell me better how to fit the inserts behind the handles without tearing into the door itself.
