I've been looking for the pre-wiring for the CD changer in my '03 ML500. I know it's on the right side behind that compartment, but I can't figure out what's what. Anybody have pictures of what cable(s) I'm supposed to be looking for? What they look like, what are they bundled with?

Even if you do find the wires and hook it up, your cd changer will still not work. You have to use the STAR Diagnostics to tell the car that it has a cd changer. The wires are fiberoptics. I believe they are yellow/orangish in color.

 

I have a same Optic CD changer for my 99 CLK. Other than connect 2 cable, there is nothing else I need to do. The radio knows CD Changer is installed.

I also have a ML350. Having hard time finding the wire for the CD changer. Do I have to open any panel to find the pre-wired cable??
