A/C Problems on 2000 ML320
Hi,
I've had a 2000 ML320 for seven months it has 93k miles on it. It's the wife's car and she recently took a trip and was gone for three weeks. Before she left the A/C blew ice cold and seemed to be working great. The car sat for the three weeks she was away and now the A/C does not work at all. I don't think the compressor even starts up.
I took it into an A/C shop and they just told me that there is a leak at the compressor and the expansion valve (maybe). They tell me it could cost as much as $3,500.00. Does this sound like BS?
Anyone else have A/C problems like this?
Thanks

Yes, it does sounds that way.
Plug in cheap pressure gauge from Walmart or auto parts store to see, if the refrigerant leaked out. If the system is still under pressure, A/C relay, fuse or pressure sensor could be bad. If the system is empty for real, get a quote from other place to compare.
