Default 2001 ML 320 rear seatbelt replacement

Had a fuel pump replacement done today (love that extended warranty) and inquired about fixing the passenger rear seatbelt (no longer retracting on the shoulder belt) He told me it was $500.00!

I just ordered the assembly from the benz bin for $105.00. Does anyone have any hints on replacing this? Any things to not do or screws in odd places or weird trim clips, other things to remove?

thanks!

not sure about this but if could help. on the right side panel in the car where the seat goes behind the panel. if there is a "SRS" plastic cover, it should pry off there will be a screw behind it. wehre the panel meets the headliner you can pry the off by hand. it is held on by two clips. you can also partily remove the weather from the door jam to take a look behind the panel. if you need more help shoot me a message and i can look it up.

Thanks!

I am going to tackle it this weekend. I bought the service manual for my 92, its helpful. Would you recommend shelling out the $80.00 for the 2001 ML manual?

If you plan on working on the car, instead of going to the dealer.
