Hello all, stick up for your ride if you like your ML tell me why. I recently sold my 85 300d and have been shopping around for a new (new for me merc). I found a ML430 with 144k, pretty nice shape in and out, but needs a transmission or at least tranny work. Being unfamiliar with the ML series should I be worried about the miles that are on it? From looking at the reviews it seems like people had more issues with the 98, 99 320's than the 430's, but can anyone with experience tell me different? Is there anything else I should look for or beware of? It is priced right.

 

I have a 99 ML430 with 197,000 miles and it runs beautifully. I bought it with 188,000 and the previous owner was very particular. It had received a MB re-built transmission so that may be something to consider. Other than that usual stuff like front ball joints etc - in MN we have lots of pot holes.
