I recently purchased a new GPS system for my 2002 ML 320.

I need help with the removal of the existing radio unit.

I saw a post that said you need a Mercede's tool. Can you get
the radio out without this tool?

I have seen the site that tells how to install the GPS in a 1998
but it does not show how to remove the radio.

How does the radio come out?

I appreciate any help!!

 

The radio comes out using two "radio keys". If you look on the bottom of your headunit you'll see two small slots. That is where you insert the keys and pull the radio out. You can order them from mercedes or they have them on ebay.

Did you just purchase the drive? I am looking to buy a DVD navigation unit. Is it plug and play?
