Hello folks, I am going to be buying a 2000 Europa G500 with 71K miles on it tommorrow. I talked the guy down to $23K but there are some MAJOR issues with it, well maybe major - I dont know how serious they are and that is why I am asking for your help: First and foremost the most serious issue is the gear shift lever which does not go into 4, 3, 3, or 1 manually. It said in the manual the car should do this on the fly but it did not! It looks like the cosmetic molding on the shifter is ripped off and I thought maybe it is blocking it, but it is not - the car still drive just fine in D and R and N and even parks in P but will not cycle through 4 3 2 1 IS this the first sign of a failing transmission??? Secondly the sunroof is unresponsive and it seems to be open a crack in the right rear corner enough to where water can get in! The dealer guy said it is a motor and costs $300 more to fix and that he could fix it OR give me a $300 credit on it. I heard others with this problem too - is it an easy fix I could do at home if I just get the part # and order it or should I make him fix it before final delivery because there's more that could go wrong beside the motor? Third, the brakes dont hold well, he said they need replacing and would be able to do that too OR give me a $500 credit on the brakes, should I make him do it or take the $500 extra off and do it somewhere at home? Those are the 3 major things then there's all the little things: dented rear speaker, driver's headrest wont go up and down, rear passenger heated seat button missing and I dont know if the wiring even works... There's also some blood in there but I can deal with someone getting their a$$ kicked in one of them. What do you guys think? Should I back out of the deal or pick it up tommorrrow AS IS with the credits? Or make him fix it? THANKS again everyone.[/align]
