Default Mercedes-AMG G63 — Carbon-Ceramic by TRONIK: No Compromise on Price or Performance

Hey everyone!







Many owners of high-performance vehicles dream of upgrading to a carbon-ceramic braking system. And for good reason — carbon-ceramics offer exceptional heat resistance, consistent performance under stress, reduced weight, and a distinctly premium appearance. However, the price tag on OEM systems can easily match a significant portion of a new luxury car’s value.

At TRONIK, we set out to create a smarter alternative: a setup that maintains reliability, longevity, and performance — without the inflated cost. We successfully implemented it on the Mercedes-AMG G63.

🔧 The Kit: Balanced Engineering, Thoughtful Execution

At the heart of the project are high-performance rotors manufactured in Asia, long proven in demanding applications.

Front Axle:

  • Carbon-ceramic rotors — 420Χ40 mm
  • Aluminum rotor hats
  • Ceramic brake pads
  • Custom front adapters (L/R) — engineered by TRONIK
  • Mounting hardware

Rear Axle:

  • Carbon-ceramic rotors — 410Χ32 mm
  • Aluminum rotor hats
  • Ceramic brake pads
  • Custom caliper carriers — engineered by TRONIK
  • Mounting hardware
⚙️ Titanium bobbins are used to connect the carbon-ceramic rings with the aluminum hats, ensuring strength and thermal stability.
📉 Unsprung weight is reduced thanks to lightweight aluminum parts — which improves ride and handling.

🟩 A key advantage of this system: the factory AMG calipers are retained.
That means lower overall cost and full compatibility with OEM hydraulics and electronics.

🛠 Installation: Precision Work, No Corners Cut

The full installation was carried out at the TRONIK workshop:
  • OEM steel braking system removed
  • Hubs and mounting surfaces cleaned and prepped
  • Carbon-ceramic rotors installed to factory torque specifications
  • OEM AMG calipers retained
  • New ceramic pads installed
  • Brake system flushed and refilled with fresh high-temp fluid
Everything was done in-house, with strict attention to detail and tolerances.
