I am about to change the engine oil on my 1989 W124 300 TE 4 matic and the sump plug is not where it was on my 260 E. The sump pan is a different shape due to the front drive shafts and it is not visible from underneath the car or from under the hood. I have not as yet removed the plastic lower cover as its a hassle without a ramp or pit so hope I can reach it with the lower cover in place. Anyone know where it is ?

 

OK I have found it ! You have to take the lower engine panel off and there it was. I am going to buy an oil extractor pump to avoid all this hassle next time.
