I have 97 E420. And my transmission won't kick into the next gear, its an automatic, but when I try to drive it, it would rev up to 5000 rpm, going 30 to 40 mph. Can you give me a description or tell me what's wrong with it, before I bring it in a shop. Thank you.

 

Does it do on the cold engine only or all the time ???
