Tire Vibration E500
I get inside cupping on the front tires of my 2004 E500 w/Sport Package. This results in an annoying hum like snow tires. I have had the alignment checked and found that it was exactly in Mercedes specs. I replaced all the tries and checked the alignment again to make sure I started off “clean”. Problem was back in 6000 miles. I have the Tire Pressure Monitoring system and have kept the tires exactly to pressure. Tire shop thinks it’s a natural thing with a car with as much negative camber as it has. Yet, no one else seems to be complaining according to the dealer.
Any thoughts? Similar problems?

RE: Tire Vibration E500
I have had 4 E class cars over the last 8 years and found that the multi link suspension is extremely sensitive to the proper tire balance as well as tire pressure. If it is not right on it is amplified by the suspension and results in bad tire wear. Do you drive the car hard? What are you riding on for tires and rims? How are the brakes ...rotors smooth or does the pedal flutter? Inside cupping sounds more like bad bushings or tie rods.

Cupping is not a camber issue. Why would you have to much neg camber anyway if you have not lowered the car?Camber should be set at about -.5 rear.Cupping, worn out shocks, the suspension is failing to keep the tires in constant contact with the road.Find a different shop that will locate the worn out units. Is it the dealer doing the alignment or the tire shop? There is no need for excessive negative camber at either end of the Mercedes
