starting problems
Hi.
I am new to this fourm, but have tried unsuccsessfully to get help elsewhere. The problem is that my 1994 E 220 (petrol) having difficulties in starting if the engine is half-warm. The starter is running, but no start. If I wait a few minutes (sometime longer) it starts without problems. This has never happened with a cold motor, and does not happen everytime (can be weeks in between). This is quite frustrating because I do not know what will happen when I turn the key after a brief stop.
I be more that gratefull if anybody has a tip or two
Thanks Dag

This sounds like a tuffy, since the sympoms come and go on occasion, it would be difficult without plugging into an anylizer that may spot the problem.
I would take it to the dealer, or a good independant MB mechanic. It is either a fuel, and or, a computer related issue, an anylizer can identify the fault.
Good luck...........

fuel pump relay?
over voltage protection relay?
pull out those parts and see if there is any corrossion on the terminals that could affect the contacts.
have you replaced the fuel filter lately?
sounds like a fuel related problem.

Hi
Sorry to be such a newbie, but I have not changed anyting on the car the last half-year (since I got it.)
Could you point me to someplace where I get a discription of how to find the relays?
Anyway thanks a lot for the ideas - If this does not work I take the car to the MB dealer and let you know if they find out whats wrong
