Default Spills on the console

You got it!
My daughter has a 98 C Class and she didn't listen when I said not to use the console cup holder. Now it won't shift except in winter mode and there it does fine. But we live in Nevada. Whats the least expensive way to fix this?

Will it shift into drive?
You can try spraying crc brand maf cleaner down into the little slot that is shown in your manual to get the car out of park if you have a dead battery.Or you can follow the diy procedure on benzworld.org 21o section to remove and clean or remove and replace the unit. Also a recent post from a member that had to replace his unit, new one was about 5 bills.Do not have the dealer do it they will charge over a grand.try to clean and dry it first.

ohlord helped me out when my wife left the sunroof open & it rained. I also disconnected the battery and put a small fan blowing on the console for 3 days. the car started and ran fine after that.
