293,265 '87 300 Turbodiesel Still going strong and passes Oregon's tough emissions. Transmission has developed a hard clunk between 2nd and 3rd but all other shifts are fine. Not sure what that's all about.

Its not like a gas car emissions test where they measure HC, CO, CO2 and NOx, while allowing no visible smoke and checking that the gas cap works correctly, the cats are still in the exhaust and there are no active engine fault codes.
In comparison, diesels only have to put out less than 20% smoke to pass the test. Thats it.

Really tough to pass that!

For the clunk: https://mercedesforum.com/forum/dies...ift-kit-49014/
Thanks for the info on the shift kit but don't appreciate the sarcastic comment on the emission test. At my last check, they checked under the hood for modifications, checked that the cat was still there, made me run the car at 2500 rpm, then idle then back to 2500 and then idle. All with the test probe in the exhaust. Report showed figures for CO% and CO+CO2%. Seems like a lot if all they're doing is looking for smoke. I thought this site was for support and help but as I read through the threads it seems that there always seems to be someone who has to throw in an unwarranted jab.

Default one year later

My 1994 E320 wagon now has 220,000 miles. Oil changes, few minor repairs that needed attention, couple deer collisions, a drive through tornadoes and hail, still goin strong. Love this car.

Not many MB's in Europe with that kind of mileage, simply cant afford to put the fuel in over here with MB's poor mpg and the price of fuel. Shame but there you go.

Got my first ever Mercedes E200 Touring, makes you feel like a different person, great family car, I have 4 kids, it is a 1999 with 111,000 miles, just replaced the wafter pump 3 months ago, kids fight over who gets to sit in the back. I am the 3rd owner, will not know what to do when it is gone.

Mine hit 112,000 a month ago.

Edit: I guess that I should add that it's a 1998 E320.
