scanners
Hi there, newbie here looks like this might be the right place to ask about retrieving codes from my car. I live in the west of ireland and own a w210 320cdi 2000. I notice that american mercs have OBD-II ports but mine seems to have the 32 pin socket. Is there an affordable scanner availiable or do you have to get carsoft and laptop etc.
Appreciate any help on this..

RE: scanners
I'd use the net to Google assorted suppliers and ask them if they have a scanner appropriate for a 32 pin MB of your model type.
My scanner is software for a Palm (very handy + it reads dynamic data etc) and if you contact Autera.com I'm sure that you will get a quick response to any email (address on the site) you send.

RE: scanners
Yea checked under the dash no OBD socket the flap is there but nothing under it.
That cable that converts the round socket to a OBD will that lift the codes from the merc 32 pin?
Thanks for your help guys I just need to be ready for when something happens, and not get ripped by the dealer.

I found Stuart's recommendation at www.auterraweb.com - although www.autera.com might be more interesting.
