Reliability of 99-02 E320 vs. E430 vs. E55 AMG

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to buy a 1999-2002 E class. I know the E320 get better mpg compared to the E430 and E55 but they are not that bad. (I drive 75% on the highway) The extra fuel bill isn't that much. The big concern I have about going to the V-8 models is reliability and maintenance costs. Does anyone know how they compare? Are the the V-8s as easy to work on as the V-6?
Thanks.

YES,same engine just 2 more cylinders, just as rock solid if taken care of properly.
Do not kid yourself about it only being a little less mpg
E320 about 27hway and mixed about 23
E430 23 hway maybe 24 and 20 mixed
that is a bunch
drop to an E55 and you will smile all the way to the gas station, frown upon leaving
V-8 less room to work in,but just as easy if proper tools and procedures are used.
