Default Prop coupling

I have just had the from prop coupling replaced on my mY 190E MANUAL 1.8 as I was getting vibrations through the prop shaft at 60 - 70 miles per hour, to the point that my exhaust kept snapping.

Now when I drive the car, the vibration is no longer there at 60, but kicks in later on at around 80 - 85 mph

Could this be that they have fitted the new prop coupling incorrectly, or could it be that the rear prop coupling has gone aswell?

Need some advice, as the garage are bound to try to stitch me up for more new work . . .

thanks

Art

out of balance.

did they mark the position before removing it?

you can try changing the position.

with the car lifted and in drive, use a chalk to see if the prop shaft is wigling.

Thanks for the advice . . . So I jack it up, put it in drive, spin and look for vibration . . .what do you mean by 'use chalk'?

Thanks,

Arthur
