Frequently the problem is a failing diverter valve.

Valve, shut-off valve LEFT MB# 0021403560

Valve, shut-off valve RIGHT MB# 0021403660

Often by the time you get the P0410 code, the cylinder head air passage is plugged with carbon.

As preventive maintenance I suggest replacing both diverter valves and vacuum hoses.

Here is a trick I use:
* Buy a gallon can of PB Blaster. Note: some people prefer Trizol TM Technologies - Aero Braze - Flux Core Brazing Rod
* Let the engine cool
* Remove both diverter valves, being careful not to break the round end of the valve.
* Locate the port (hole) under the left/right diverter valve, and pour in 2 oz of PB Blaster in each hole.
* If the air passage is plugged, it will only hold 2 oz.
* Repeat the process every 12 hours for up to a week.
* Install the diverter valves, start the car outside because it is going to seriously SMOKE until the oil burns off.
* Drive the car for 20 miles.
** Repeat the process as needed, until the air passages open.
** Usually the air passages clear after 1-4 procedures.
*** After the air passages open; Pour in 2-3 oz of Berryman B-12 Chemtool Berryman Products in each port (hole) under the left/right diverter valve.
*** Wait 3-4 hours and drive the car (above 45 MPH) for 30 minutes.
