Plug replacement- '02 E320
I'm trying to replace the original plugs on my E320, 95K miles- no problem to access the plugs, even the difficult rear ones, but I can't get the plug wires off the plugs to even get started! I'm hesitant to just yank away, as it feels like there's a mechanical connection holding them on- any advice will be appreciated!

Hi,
DO NOT PULL ON THE WIRES!
Use an open ended spanner to engage with the outside of the metal "jacket" and apply force to this by levering the spanner against a convienent fulcrum.
Plug cap just pulls off. No mechanical connection but rubber seal sticks and it is an idea to use an appropriate dielectric grease during reassembly.
You may find access to the rear plugs a challenge depndent upon the type of socket set you have. Use 3/8" drive.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the plugs when you replace them and use copper slip or similar on the threads....if you want to get the plugs out again at some future point!!
Stuart.
