Default oil sensor defective

Every time I start the engine I get "OIL SENSOR DEFECTIVE" Has anybody else had this happen also and is the fix as simple as replacing the oil sensor? 99 E320

Default RE: oil sensor defective

first check if the connector on oil sensor is okay.

yes, many cases like this. part numbers A 004 153 52 28 and A 004 153 53 28 are known to be defectives.

you need to remove the oil pan to replace the sensor. easy if the car is lifted up.

Thanks for the reply, It doesn't happen every time I start the engine now but it seems to be almost every time. I will wait until oil change service to fix. Does anyone recommend a website for parts?
