Default Need some help, thinkin' it's a fuse...

Hey guys, I own a 1998 Mercedes E320 sedan. Tonight I went to drive and found that when I flipped my signal lever, and nothing happened. As far as I could tell the signals weren't ticking, and the little dash arrow didn't light up at all. So I arrived at my destination, and found that the courtesy lights that come on when the door is open didn't come on. Only in the front though, the rear courtesy lights came on, but no front. And then I found that the key fob didn't lock the doors, and neither did the button on the dash. So I had to lock the doors manually. I'm hoping and guessing this is a fuse. I looked around, but didn't find anything that helped me. Can anyone shed some light on the potential cause of this? Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

P.S. Also remembered that the wiper's don't work, at all, none of the speeds work.

Since turn signals and wipers are on the same controller, that is a likely candidate.

But, of course, the first place to check is the fuses. There are three fuse panels in your car. One under the hood in a black plastic box on the drivers side near the windshield. The second is at the end of the dash on the drivers side under a pry off panel. Door must be open to access. Third is under the passenger rear seat. Tilt rear seat cushions forward. Rotate round black plastic fastener 90 degrees and lift up felt covered panel. There should be small cardboard fuse diagrams stored at each location. If they are in German just turn them over for English.

Use a DMM or continuity tester (cheap at Radio Shack) to test. Visual doesn't always work. Unless they've been used and not replaced you should have spare fuses in the back half of the fuse panel under the hood.

Some of your symptoms can be caused by a failing battery as well.

Good luck.
