Need an owner's manual for 1992 400 E
Hi,
I just bought a 1992 400 E at an auction
So far, all is well, but there are lot of things on this car that either don't work, or I haven't figured out yet
An owner's manual might help. There may even be one, but other than the little cubby box between the front seats, there doesn't seem to be one. Where I would expect a glove box, there seems to be only an air bag.
Also, I can't find a dimmer for the dash lights. There MUST be one, right? They are way too bright for extended night driving.
Is there a place where one can view owner's manuals online?
Better yet, download them?
I've found where I can buy service manuals on DVD, but they're quite pricey, and it is really the OM that I need.
Regards,
Vorpal

Dimmer is in the dash speedo area,. There are 2 black *****...one adjusts the clock the other re-sets the trip odometer and adjust the dash lights.
OM is usless to you for repairs. Sign up with Alldata DIY for that car...I think it is $18....worth every cent.
Also, if you contact MB USA with the VIN they may help you track down the dealer who sold and serviced it. If not, call local MB dealers service department with the VIN...they may have serviced it locally.
Good luck....what color is it, mileage and what did you pay??

Thanks,
I'll give that a try tonight, assuming I can satisfactorily mount the license plates.
It is a metallic tan, 169000km (about 105000 mi) and paid 6800 $CDN before taxes.
The vehicle has been in an accident with damage over 2000.
Otherwise, except for the radio, and a bulb in the front interior overhead light, everything is near perfect, as far as I can tell.
The mechanic who inspected it for me (post-purchase) found nothing wrong, except that the brakes were down to 40% rear, 20% front.
