Manual gearbox servicing
I have a 1987 w124 200. It has just had a full clutch kit fitted including a new flywheel and slave cylinder. This has made a huge diffrence to the before nothy gearshift and am constantly astounted by its super smooth and precise gearchanges. But i am now wondering about changing the gearbox oil? I have been told by the dealer that there is no filter to worry about in the manuals but am wondering if they just brushed me off. I lokked it up in my haynes manual and agian it mention the manual oil change. Is this because they are rare or very seldom require servicing. I have also had problems finding a manual gearbox oil even though i work in an autopart shop. It should be castrol dexron 2 i think but i can only get castrol dexron 3 autobox oil would this do or could i damage the gearbox?

Thanks for the reply, i will be contacting my local mb dealership and quoteing that part number. I forgot to mention that the car has 108,000 miles on it so that is why i am curious as to the life expectancy of the transmission oil as it has never been changed, unlike my auto c class which gets its oil and filter changed every 32thou, thanks again!
